Mary Ann Mobley
Brandon, Mississippi

Mary Ann has continually been both rewarded and challenged in her achievements. She has attained success in television, Broadway, personal appearances, and as a documentary film maker. Mary Ann has filmed hour-long documentaries that provided in-depth looks at the plight of millions of children who are helpless victims of war and deprivation. Mobley was the only woman in a five man crew--the first American TV film team to enter communist Cambodia. Both Mary Ann and husband Gary Collins feel a special personal commitment to helping the underprivileged of the poor nations of the world. Mobley's commitment to worthwhile causes also includes organizations such as the March of Dimes, Mother's March Against Birth Defects, the Exceptional Children's Foundation for the Mentally Retarded, and the Mary Ann Mobley/Gary Collins Group Home. She is also proud of the Mary Ann Mobley Pediatric Wing at the Rankin General Hospital. Mary Ann and Gary have one grown daughter who they are very proud of. In recent correspondence with the National staff, Mary Ann noted that for the past 31 years she has been married to the same man, resided at the same address, and kept the same telephone number. What a rarity indeed!
