Hostess Committee Scholarships
These scholarships were initiated in 1990 as a reward to members of the volunteer Miss America Hostess Committee. The award provides funding to qualified hostesses who seek to further their education on a graduate or undergraduate level, certification program or with courses leading to improvement of career skills.
The scholarships will be administered by a committee made up of members of the Hostess Committee
Recipients must have fulfilled the necessary time commitment to be considered an “Active Hostess” or an “Active VIH Hostess”.
Applicants are judged on career goals, course selection and anticipated expenses.
Applicants must submit a completed application and narrative statement.
Annual awards consist of up to $2,000, and is funded by the Miss America Organization.
Applications must be submitted by September 11th each year.
Winners will submit paid bills to the MAO Scholarship Department for reimbursement up to the amount of their allotted scholarship. Monies awarded each year must be used before the end of September the following year or risk forfeiture.
