Matching Grant Program, State Level
The Matching Grant Program is part of the effort by national office to increase scholarship giving at all levels of competition. For each state program, up to $5,000 will be allocated to assist in building its scholarship bank. The matching grant program functions on a dollar-for-dollar basis.
Determination of matching funds will be made by national headquarters based on applications.
All states are eligible to receive funding equal to the increase in scholarship
dollars raised in one year, up to the $5,000 limit, excluding scholarship funds received from the Miss America Organization.
Each state director will receive a Matching Fund Grant Application form from the national office. All the terms are detailed in the application.
The fiscal year for state programs is from January 1st through August 1st. The completed application must be received by August 1st.
The award must be allocated to scholarships for contestants. Disbursement of funds will be handled by the Miss America Organization. Money will be held in trust for scholarship recipients, per the scholarship rules and regulations of that state. Funds will apply to that year's state competition, provided the application is received in time. If the competition has already been held, the funds have to be re-distributed to the contestants that competed in that years pageant.
