Miss America 2020 Media Credential Application
UNCASVILLE, CT (November 24, 2019)– The Miss America Organization is making history this year, relocating the historic competition to the world-renowned Mohegan Sun in Connecticut.
Applications for media credentials are now being taken and are due December 4, 2019.
This is the second year of Miss America 2.0 where the 51 young women compete for the job of Miss America 2020. No longer judging on physical beauty, during the week of December 12th – 19th, they will prove why they should be the candidate selected to spend the year advancing her chosen social impact initiative at a national level. Nia Franklin, who has held the job this last year as Miss America 2019, used her year to bring attention to the importance of bringing the arts to disadvantaged youth.
The candidate’s official arrival is on December 12th at 5 PM ET and is free and open to the public. Preliminary competitions take place December 15th and 16th at 7 PM ET in the Mohegan Sun Expo. Crendentialed press will be given seats. A brand show format will result in the selection of one woman for the job of Miss America 2020 live on NBC from Mohegan Sun Arena on December 19th at 8 PM. Credentialed press will be given seats.

The Miss America Organization, a 501(c)4 works to empower young women through education and service. Miss America candidates contribute tens of thousands of community service hours annually and have raised over $17 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Miss America scholarships since 2007.
