Social Impact Initiative: As someone who grew up in a home with substance use, I aim to reverse the addiction crisis in the United States by addressing this epidemic from every angle and stage of the individual’s journey.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received? When I was 8 years old, I visited a therapist for the first time for my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. The best piece of advice I have ever received was when she told me to ask for help. It was hard for me to ask for help, no matter how simple or complex the task. Once I realized I needed help and could ask for it, I realized I wasn’t alone and didn’t have to be! I carry this same message with me when I go to speak to patients who are struggling with addiction, and it has been eye-opening to see this message come full circle in my life.
