Scholastic Ambition: To become an Occupational Therapist.

Secret Wish or Dream: I would love to live in a developing country for a few years giving back and volunteering. I think it would be a very humbling experience and something that I would really enjoy.

If I am crowned Miss America: I hope to help the American people understand the service and sacrifices made by military men and women for our country. We are blessed to live in America, and we should all be proud of our country.

Bio: Allison Tietjen from Chester, Nebraska, is a 21-year-old senior at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln where she studies Family Science and plans to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy. Allison’s platform, “United We Stand: Honoring Our Military,” was inspired by her desire to honor her late grandfather who proudly served as a Marine during the Korean War era. In addition to promoting the importance of recognizing the service of our military, Allison has helped raise over $20,000 for Veteran and Gold Star Family Honor Flights. She has also served as a guardian on four of these flights.
