The 4th Annual Miss America Serves Day Presented By Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

Miss America 2018 Cara Mund will join titleholders and volunteers across the country to participate in the 4th annual national day of service, “Miss America Serves Presented by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals,” on Saturday, April 7, 2018. State and local titleholders will join forces with family, friends, and volunteers for a national day of community service to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Miss America scholarships.

Miss America Serves began with its inaugural event in 2015 to create a national effort for participants and leaders in the Miss America program to show their everyday passion for community service.  Across the country, people have witnessed and benefited from the community service efforts of the titleholders and leaders in their local communities, helping at hospitals, homeless shelters, food banks, senior care establishments, veteran’s homes, and more.

Miss America 2018 Cara Mund will lead the events on April 6th with patients and staff at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and on April 7th she’ll visit Children’s Specialized Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ, before heading back to Atlantic City where she will join past Miss Americas, community leaders, and volunteers for an afternoon renovating a home with Habitat for Humanity.

Some of the Miss Americas participating include:  Susan Powell Miss America 1981, Suzette Charles Miss America 1984, Gretchen Carlson, MAO Chairwoman and Miss America 1989 and Nina Davuluri Miss America 2014.

Since 2007, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has been the official national platform of the Miss America Organization. More than $17 million has been raised for both the Miss America scholarship program and for 170 member hospitals to care for more than 10 million kids each year across the U.S. and Canada.

The Miss America Organization thanks all of the state and local organizations across the nation for their efforts planning community service projects and raising funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Miss America scholarships.
