Social Impact Initiative: “Youth Voter Engagement”
In 2016, roughly 92 million eligible citizens did not vote in the Presidential Election, including over 30 million Millennials and Gen Z’ers. Despite holding enormous political power, young people consistently have the lowest voter turnout and civic engagement among all age groups.
As an advocate for equitable access to civics education and increased political participation, Payton is determined to use her year as MAOTeen to register thousands of new voters and establish life-long voting habits among young adults across the country.
